North Central Roadtrip!
Greetings, wonderful constituents! Your King is asking for assistance here as he’ll be driving back from Chicago, traveling across the country with Faraz. Yes, that Faraz, from the first time I drove out to LA . An earlier supporter of the kingdom, he’s offered to accompany me again. This post is incomplete without your suggestions. A full “Devil May Care” sequel will be written post trip. I would love to hear your thoughts about places to go (Museums, Breweries, Monuments, and Must-Sees) in Omaha and Lincoln, NE, Cheyenne, WY, and Provo and Salt Lake City, UT. His Majesty has never ventured to these foreign lands and could certainly use your help completing this itinerary.
Day 1: Saturday
Depart Chicago at 8:00 AM
Stop for lunch in Des Moines around 1:00 PM.
Arrive in Omaha around 4:00 PM, check out sights/long break
Continue on and find motel in Lincoln (Consider Zipline brewing)
Day 2: Sunday
Leave Lincoln around 9:00 AM, arrive in Denver around 4:30 PM (Gain an hour with Mountain Time)
Cheyenne, Wyoming (On a Whim...King David really wants to hit his 44th state), but there is literally nothing to do on a Sunday in Wyoming. The King prefers to skip church services.
Sightseeing: Epic Taproom, one other brewery if time
Arrive in Denver area for lodging
Day 3: Monday
Leave Denver around 9:00 AM and drive through Fishlake National Forest for scenic routes, potential stop for pictures?
Provo Nightlife - (Eh, there’s a joke there somewhere).
Lodging in Provo, any beer above 4.0%? I’m really not liking these Mormons, but, really, they are very friendly people with strangely draconian religious laws.
Day 4: Tuesday
Sightseeing: There’s a number of museums to choose from at BYU. Spend a couple hours there and depart late morning.
Book it to Los Angeles (vroom vroom)
Again, the full post will be coming after our trip. Some of my readers have complained about drafts I’ve posted, and I know, you want the full article. This time, I need your help! I would love for some suggestions on what to do while we’re on the road. If it’s a stop with a great view, that’s wonderful. If it’s a brewery with a bizarre colloquial style, yes please! And if you think there’s somewhere special along the route we’re taking that has some nostalgic personal meaning, we’d be happy to stop there.
